Almost every Pokémon can be shiny — except these
Of every Pokémon released in Pokémon GO, all of them can be caught shiny apart from the 35 below — species that are in the game but whose shiny hasn't been switched on yet. Everything else, across all nine generations, is shiny-eligible and tracked in the checklist underneath.

How the shiny tracker works
- Tap a Pokémon to mark it caught — its tile lights up and counts toward your total and your generation progress.
- Use Search, Only missing and Species only to focus on what you still need.
- Your Shiny Pokédex saves automatically in your browser. Log in with Discord and it syncs to your account, so the same checklist opens on every device.
- Fill the gaps fast with our live 100% IV coordinates and shiny feeds, track your full Living Dex, then build a trade list for the ones you want to swap — and check the strongest Pokémon rankings to see which shinies are worth maxing out. Chasing shiny Meltan? It never spawns in the wild — it only comes from a Mystery Box, and only during event windows.
Shiny FAQ
Which Pokémon can't be shiny in Pokémon GO?
Almost the entire Pokédex can be shiny in Pokémon GO. As of 21 Aug 2026, only 35 Pokémon that are already in the game are still waiting for their shiny — including Hoopa, Volcanion, Applin, Flapple, Appletun, Cramorant and the others listed above. That list shrinks every few months as Niantic switches new shinies on. (Pokémon not yet added to Pokémon GO can't be shiny at all until they're released, so they aren't listed.)
How do I track which shinies I've caught?
Tap any Pokémon in the grid to mark it caught — it lights up and counts toward your total. Your Shiny Pokédex is saved in your browser automatically, so it's still there when you come back. Log in with Discord and it also syncs to your account, so the same checklist opens on any device.
How many shiny Pokémon are there in Pokémon GO?
Around 890 species have a shiny released — and counting every form, costume, Mega and regional variant, there are 1,456 shinies to collect. The checklist above tracks all of them, split by generation.
Does the shiny checklist include forms and costumes?
Yes. Every regional form (Alolan, Galarian, Hisuian, Paldean), Mega and Primal form, Gigantamax, costume and event variant with a released shiny gets its own tile. Use the Species only toggle if you'd rather track a single tile per Pokémon.
Is the shiny tracker free?
Completely free — no payment and no login required. Logging in with Discord is optional and just syncs your Shiny Pokédex across devices.
How are the shiny odds in Pokémon GO?
Base shiny rate is roughly 1 in 500 in the wild, improving to about 1 in 25 during Community Days and 1 in 20–25 for many raid and event bosses. Hatching and Research breakthroughs vary. Spending time in our live shiny and 100% IV feeds is the fastest way to fill the gaps above.
