How to write a clear Pokémon GO trade list — what FT and LF mean, how to specify the exact variant, and the fastest way to build a Discord-ready For Trade / Looking For post.

A good trade list gets you matches fast; a vague one gets ignored. Here's how to write a clear Pokémon GO trade post — and the quickest way to build one with the free trade list generator.

What FT and LF mean

Every trade list has two halves:

  • FT — For Trade: the Pokémon you're offering.
  • LF — Looking For: the Pokémon you want in return.

Always show both. A partner scanning a busy trade channel needs to see your offer and your want in one glance to spot a match.

Be specific about the variant

This is where most lists fall down. "Charizard" isn't enough — a shiny Charizard, a costume Charizard, a regional form, a Mega and a Gigantamax are completely different trades. Spell out exactly which one you have, including:

  • Shiny or not, and any costume (party hat, holiday, etc.)
  • Regional / Alola / Galar / Hisui forms
  • Mega, GMAX/Dynamax, or a specific gender
  • The AR / photobomb background, if you're trading for the background

The generator handles this for you: you pick the exact variant from a visual grid, so the right sprite (and background) shows on your list automatically — no typing it out and no ambiguity.

Add the details that close a trade

Under each Pokémon, note anything that matters: region (for remote trades), IV spread if it's a PvP piece, and whether you can travel to trade. Put your trainer name and friend code on the list so a partner can add you immediately — the generator has fields for both and stamps them onto your shareable image.

Build it in seconds

  1. Open the trade list generator.
  2. Tap Add to For Trade or Add to Looking For and pick the exact variant from the grid.
  3. Add a note, set whether you can fly, and enter your trainer name + friend code.
  4. Copy the text for a Discord-ready post, or download the image to share on Reddit, Twitter or anywhere.

Where to post it

Drop your list in the PokeXperience Discord's For Trade / Looking For channels to reach thousands of active traders. New to how trading actually works — friendship levels, special trades, Stardust costs? Read how to trade in Pokémon GO first.

Quick tips

  • Lead with your best offers — shinies and Legendaries draw eyes (and they're special trades, so you only get one per day).
  • Keep it current — remove traded-away Pokémon so partners don't chase dead offers. Your list auto-saves, so edits stick.
  • A clean image stands out in a wall of text posts and is easy to re-share.

The exact variant of each Pokémon, your For Trade and Looking For lists, any notes (region, IV spread), whether you can travel to trade, and your trainer name + friend code so a partner can add you.
Is there a free Pokémon GO trade list maker?
Yes — the PokeXperience trade list generator is free with no login. Pick variants from a grid, then copy the list for Discord or download it as an image.
