How does the Pokémon GO shiny checker work?
Whether a wild Pokémon is shiny is not the same for everyone: the game decides it per trainer. We take every live 100% IV spawn our scanners can see, check each one against your account, and list the ones that are shiny for you. We never encounter Pokémon on your account to do it.
Is the shiny check safe for my account?
It needs your friend code and nothing else. There is no Pokémon GO login, no password and nothing to install. We never log in to your account and never encounter Pokémon on it.
Why do I need to log in with Discord?
The free check is one per account, and a login is what stops it being used over and over. You also need to be a member of the PokeXperience Discord server, which is free to join.
How many free shiny checks do I get?
One, per Discord account and per friend code. It is the same free check as the /shinycheck command in our Discord, so using it in one place uses it in both. Unlimited checks, plus an automatic Discord DM for every new guaranteed shiny, come with the 100% Shiny add-on ($30 a month, no tier needed) or with Platinum and above.
What does guaranteed shiny mean?
It means the spawn is shiny for your account specifically, as long as you encounter it before it despawns. The same Pokémon is usually not shiny for other trainers. Every result shows a countdown because a spawn lasts minutes, not hours.
Why does it only check 100% IV spawns?
The free check covers our live 100% IV feed, so every hit is a shundo: shiny and 100% IV at once. Add-on members can also get PvP-rank, XXL, XXS and any-IV checks for the Pokémon they choose, through the Discord bot.
